I’m all for makeup and people doing makeup however they choose and makeup as an art form, but i’m also really concerned for the young girls in middle school and stuff with the new found pressure of makeup culture that wasn’t there five years ago. If you’re 12 or 13 and you’re reading this please please know you don’t have to contour to be beautiful, you don’t have to have amazing gradient eyebrows to be beautiful, you don’t have to be an Instagram model to be beautiful.
Makeup can be fun but you don’t have to look like all the rich girls on instagram with tons of money for mac and urban decay to be pretty or feel good about yourself. Just being you, and exploring your interests and learning new things as a young person is what makes you beautiful!! Never forget it!
also, if youre a person of color, keep in mind that beauty culture is not going to be kind to you. just know that you don’t have to be lightskinned, you don’t have to contour your nose to make it slimmer, you don’t have to be ashamed of the dark circles that seem to never go away, you don’t have to be okay with the white girls who “bronze” and “self tan” to the point of brownface
you can create your own definition of beauty. there are ways to be beautiful that don’t involve conforming to white beauty standards.

Paris-based graphic designer Alexandra Bruel has been causing quite a fuss on the internet thanks to her quirky and quite imaginative pop art clay creations.
Originating from a design background, Bruel first began working with modeling clay a few years ago and soon built up a striking portfolio that has been used in conjunction with animation, textile design, photography, sculpture and illustration. More after the jump:
